What Is Ki?
Oriental medicine embraces the profoundly elegant concept of internal energy, or vital life force. In Japanese this energy is known as Ki ("kee"); in Chinese it is called Chi or Qi ("chee").
Ki energy circulates freely in a healthy body, but physical and emotional stressors can disrupt healthy Ki flow, resulting in illness and build-up of toxins in the body.
When Ki energy flows strongly and unobstructed throughout the body, both the body and mind are able to unwind and strengthen and heal themselves, helping us cope better with the many pressures of living in today's world.
Eastern medicine teaches that we all have a power within us that knows how to heal. It is a powerful and vital force waiting to be tapped, like magma pulsing beneath the surface of the earth!
